Anemic and vegetarian - you have to eat red meat? Honest answers please!?

I have been diagnosed with anemia after blood tests. This explains many things I always tired, cold, restless leg have yeast infections often and my hair falls a lot. I'm a vegetarian and prefers become one. However, if the consumption of red meat that really make a difference in the way I feel I would consider it. Please do not start a debate on the vegetarianism against meat consumption or abuse by my question, I just want honest answers and feel better than I do now. I have been prescribed iron supplements and I also trying to up my intake of foods rich in iron (other than meat). Thanks!

In fact, depending on the severity, could probably only increase their consumption of green leafy vegetables such as fresh spinach. A lot of nuts and beans are rich in iron too. If you do that and take iron supplements, should not have to eat meat.

Sodium: The recognition that modifying renal excretory capacity for sodium and thus changing sodium balance can induce high B.P. in experimental animals focussed attention on sodium as the principle nutritional factor in the development of high B.P. Epidemiological surveys are often cited as proof that excessive sodium intake increases the prevalence of high B.P.

Vitamin D: Apart from sunlight (ultraviolet rays trigger vitamin D synthesis in the skin), the only other sources are foods like eggs, milk and fish. Vitamin D deficiency is common even in sunny India, and if prolonged, it can cause rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. Take vitamin D supplements if you don’t get enough sun.
